God Has Chosen You

There is something special about everyone.  I think it is much easier to see what is special about another person than our own unique selves.  Of course, it helps that we aren’t looking at them as we do our own face using a ten times magnified mirror that zeros in on all those wrinkles and creases like you wouldn’t believe.  Maybe too it has to do with the fact that we don’t live in their skin.  We don’t know their inner most thoughts and what’s inside that old heart.  What we see is special.

No matter what you think about yourself, no matter how often you beat yourself up, no matter what anyone else tells you; you are special.  Just ask God.

Out of pure love God has chosen you and me to do wonderful things that will change the world.  It doesn’t matter if you are always the last one picked to be on a team, makes no difference whether or not you were overlooked for the job opening that fit you perfectly, and if you didn’t get to be included as a contestant in the beauty pageant you are still loved, wanted, and needed by God.

God chooses whoever; there are no requirements or known skills you must possess; He chooses whoever His will is.  An Oscar award isn’t necessary; exceptional holiness isn’t a must either; remember how the chosen disciples of Jesus were viewed by the crowds.  He chose fishermen and tax collectors to be his Apostles.  Plain, ordinary everyday people; similar to you and me.

So, God chooses us; the plain, the ordinary everyday people; not necessarily the cream of the crop, but sincere, loyal, hardworking, willing to learn, and open to believing.

“You did not choose Me; I chose you and appointed you to go and bear much fruit, the kind of fruit that endures.  And so the Father will give you whatever you ask of Him in my name.  This, then, is what I command you: love one another.”  John 15:16-17

Jesus picks you and me to be Christians and spread the word about our faith and beliefs.  Words that have true meaning; words that will endure and make a mark on humanity; also if you need anything along the way; just use His name when asking and God will provide.

And further more: love one another.
